The Dance School started way back in 2001, initially as The Dance School Ltd. It is a London based social dancing school without the fuss of getting too technical or serious about dancing.

Life is too short and it has to be enjoyed it. So with learning to dance; it has to be fun and not a chore or a bore. The whole idea was, still is, to help especially London based couples with dance lessons so they can dance for any occasion, social or not.

Learning to dance is overrated. Many think it is a difficult skill to get to grips with. It isn’t. You learn the basic dance steps and then build upon.

It doesn’t matter if you are a single or a couple or a group of friends; anyone can master it. Be it social Ballroom or Latin dances or wedding dances, dance can bring people together like no other activity

Most of London’s dancing schools will not operate on Sundays. We will teach you as early in the morning and as late in the evening as you want us to.

Our Team

We are a small but dedicated team of dance instructors.

Paul Priftis is the founder and head teacher. He runs team building events involving dance. Yet his real passion is helping couples with first dance lessons for their big day.

Paul learnt to and started teaching dance in “Gene Kelly” Dance Studios. After working for various dance schools in London he set up Wedding Dance Workshops as a branch of The Dance School in 2001. He also oversees the selection and training of dance teachers.

Laura D’Arcy, co-founder and head teacher. Laura is a top dance instructor and competitor. She loves teaching people how to dance because she loves seeing them being happy and have fun.

Laura has taught dance in Australia, Cuba, Finland and England. Her favourite dance is Salsa. Where she really excels is coaching dancers, performers, and teachers.
